About

So I’m Peter and I hate writing bios.

It depends on the day as to who I am. Some days, if not doing my full time job, I am a professional writer, or a photographer, or website manager. In the past, I’ve been a social media guy, a movie reviewer, a semi-serious competitive gamer, and an academic.  Generally, when I have time, I’m a lover of live music, bad television, horror and superhero movies, and the odd sporting match. Go sports. I’m a drinker of good beers, fine wines and Bundy (or whatever else is put in front of me). I have an abnormal (though entirely logical) hatred of soup.

I graduated with my Master of Philosophy (English) degree in 2014, in which I applied sociological theories on the influence of place on the individual and the connection between place and portrayals of self to Australian pub fiction. I also wrote a collection of short stories, Overflow, which one day I might revisit, extend and publish. I am a published poet, short story writer, essayist, photographer, and have written for DigitalRev and DIYPhotography among other publications.

My photographic kit includes a Canon 5D Mark III, the beautiful Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Arts lens, the Canon 50mm f/1.8 and Canon 85mm f/1.8. My lighting gear includes a much loved Lumopro LP180, an amazing set of LED Light Cubes, and a collection of creative lighting techniques. Quite often there’s also copious amounts of fire. I use a 3 Legged Thing Eric and a 3 Legged Thing Winston, and a combination of ThinkTankPhoto bags.
